Description:

Abstract:

The Santee Experimental Forest in Berkeley County, SC. Manual well locations were identified from Forest Service documents and employees, past GIS data held in-house, and GPS locations collected in 2009. These wells were installed in 1991, reaching an average depth between 100 and 120 inches. They were measured weekly between 1992 and 1994. The 33 manual wells installed in WS80 are all still present. Of the 42 wells in WS77, 28 of them are still present. Some of the wells in WS80 and WS77 continue to be monitored either by dataloggers or manual measurement.

Purpose:

The purpose of the dataset is for easy identification of certain field instruments in the Santee Experimental Forest. As a research forest, locations of these instruments are vital for research efforts in the region. Also, temporal data collected from the instruments can be linked to each instrument to make for easy data viewing and analysis.
